Software Engineer

We are seeking a Software Engineer to be a core member of our instrument development team. The successful candidate will work as part of the development team to write and test software functionality that supports both the hyperspectral imaging and product authentication platforms. They will have key skills needed to build, test and validate software releases, support existing source code, and develop new applications to support systems engineering. The optimal candidate will also have experience with industrial cameras and instrument control.

Job Functions:

  • Key technical contributor working with team of engineers on hyperspectral camera and authentication systems software development, validation, debug, and transfer to production
  • Build, validate, and deploy instrument software releases for Linux and Windows environments
  • Design test cases, generate datasets, and perform experiments to quantify and validate software/algorithm updates
  • Automate tests with hardware in the loop
  • Perform source control, code reviews, and bug tracking
  • Collaborate closely with team members to build software infrastructure from prototyping to production level
  • Provide technical support for internal engineering team, sales team, and customers
  • Generate documentation and test reports

Desired Skills:

  • Fluency in C/C++ and Python with a solid understanding of software development principles
  • Strong ability to isolate and debug embedded hardware and software problems
  • Experience building and deploying releases for Linux and Windows environments
  • Familiarity with variety of Linux distributions
  • Excellent understanding of Linux kernel and application packages
  • Experience with industrial cameras, data acquisition systems, and instrument control a plus

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering discipline along with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Masters preferred with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Willing to take on tasks outside of core expertise
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
