TruTag Technologies has developed a means by which pills, coated with reflective, covert, and safe microparticles, can be authenticated by using a mobile phone. “These particles can’t be seen, but the cellphone can detect them and instantly identify a pill as fake or genuine,” said Leidholm. “We are passionate about the authentication of drugs, and this is a way to put the power of authentication in the hands of the consumer and anyone else along the pharmaceutical supply chain.”
