TruTag Technologies to Exhibit at the 2016 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition

TruTag to demonstrate capabilities to combat diversion and counterfeiting with its on-dose authentication technology solution

EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA ─ November 8, 2016 — TruTag Technologies, Inc., a leader in product authentication, brand security, and data intelligence solutions, today announced that they will be exhibiting at the 2016 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition in the WuXi AppTec booth #321.

From November 13-17, 2016, approximately 6,500 scientists, business leaders, government officials, and students from around the world will share and learn the latest scientific advances and industry developments. The meeting features nearly 245 programming sessions, including more than 65 symposia and roundtables. The meeting will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado and is the world’s largest gathering of pharmaceutical scientists.

TruTag Technologies, Inc. will be displaying its capabilities in combatting unauthorized diversion and counterfeiting with its on-dose authentication technology solution for solid oral dosage form (SODF) drug products. TruTag has developed an edible and covert microtag made of silicon dioxide, a well-known and trusted ingredient that has been used in food and medicine for decades. These “TruTags” can be applied directly to the surface of a tablet embedded with customizable spectral data that are read by TruTag’s Model 3200, a high-performance and portable Pharmaceutical Pill Reader capable of reading pills of any size, shape or color, and reveal custom product intelligence such as dosage, plant, manufacturing line, and even batch.

“TruTag is committed to providing simple solutions to complex problems,” said Kent Mansfield, President of TruTag Technologies. “Our on-dose authentication solution is reliable, cost-effective and easy-to-use, and we will demonstrate this at AAPS and show how a pill can be scanned and immediately have its authenticity confirmed, helping pharmaceutical companies maintain the safety and integrity of their drug products against diversion and counterfeiting in the global supply chain.”
