TruTag unveils new high-performance detector to demonstrate its latest advancements in authentication technology

EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA ─ May 30, 2016 — TruTag Technologies will demonstrate its nanotechnology-based product authentication solution and debut its revolutionary Model 4100 Handheld Universal Detector to the electronics market at COMPUTEX 2016, May 31-June 4, in Taipei, Taiwan.

TruTag’s on-product authentication solution addresses the problem of counterfeiting and diversion of electronics, industrial and automotive components in the global supply chain, estimated to cost manufacturers billions of dollars a year in losses. The TruTag platform protects the integrity of products by providing a technology-enabled solution.

The first-of-its-kind Model 4100 is a cloud-connected solid-state hyperspectral imager that can detect and decode thousands of objects tagged with TruTag® microtags (“TruTags®”). TruTags are resilient, secure and optically encoded microscopic tags made of silicon dioxide that can be incorporated onto electronic component packages, PCBs and modules, as well as onto industrial and automotive components. The battery-powered Model 4100 has a high-resolution touchscreen display and decodes objects in a matter of seconds, revealing product intelligence on the provenance, packaging and authorized distribution channels of a variety of products.

“We’re committed to protecting the brand integrity of electronic manufacturers,” said Kent Mansfied, President of TruTag Technologies. “COMPUTEX is a great forum for us to demonstrate our cutting-edge technology and cost-effective security solution to the problem of counterfeiting and diversion.”

TruTag will exhibit at the Taipei NangGang Exhibition Center in Hall 4F at the Acer booth #M0420.
