EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA ─ October 12, 2016 — TruTag Technologies, Inc., a leader in product authentication, brand security, and data intelligence solutions, today announced that they received the “New Product of the Year” Award for their handheld Hyperspectral Imager. TruTag joins the company of 36 groundbreaking businesses as a 2016 winner of Business Intelligence Group’s BIG Awards for Business.
The TruTag Hyperspectral Imager is a handheld camera that can capture high-resolution images in 400 colors in a matter of seconds. It offers 2.3 mega-pixel spatial resolution in a battery-operated small form-factor instrument. The device, incorporating satellite imaging technologies, can be used in microscopy, medical imaging, minerology and other applications which require high resolution in both the spatial and spectral domains. It displaces instruments which are typically large, expensive and slow and opens up new application areas in true hyperspectral imaging.
The reader can also be used to authenticate objects tagged with TruTag’s unique ingestible Optical Memory (iOM) microparticles devices called “TruTags®”. Unlike traditional spectroscopic anticounterfeiting instruments, the TruTag solution allows customers to incorporate digital information into the very fabric of objects, allowing them to embed such product intelligence as manufacturing plant and date, authorized distributors and marketing collateral.
